2017 Free travel extended

Free travel on light rail and privately operated buses and ferries was secured in 2017 for members on duty and whilst travelling to and from work.

Following representations by the Association, the NSW Government extended free travel to officers when using private bus operators or light rail services.

This includes travelling to and from work in the course of members duties.

Officers should use their Opal cards where accepted.

On Light Rail and privately operated buses and ferries, they should present their police identification or simply be in uniform to travel on services.

This applies both in country and metropolitan areas.

(The free travel only applies to services where a booking is not required).
