1946 Police Association gain the right to approach the NSW Industrial Commission (only on wages)

By the end of the year the Association and the government reach an agreement for a historic wage rise, one that regained the losses accumulated through the Depression years. A constable’s wage rose from 18s 6d to 22s 9d per day. Further Association representations before the Industrial Commission meant that by the end of 1948 a constable’s annual wage had risen to £465.
